BASI was founded in 1990 by a highly skilled gas engineer who had worked for British Gas since leaving school at 16. Fuelled by his passion for providing honest advice and cost effective home heating solutions, he set about creating an alternative central heating provider which would out-perform its national competition on customer service and engineering skill.
A forward-facing business
In 2005, the founders son, who completed a similar apprenticeship to his father joined the business tasked with future-proofing BASI’s product and service offering, whilst maintaining the core values of excellence across customer service and installation.
Since working together, this father and son team has grown BASI’s weekly installation rate five-fold, as well as having completed contracted works for British Gas, Vaillant, Homeserve and the AA.
Now operating across the road from where it all began on Leeds Road in Bradford, in an office five times the size of their original premises, BASI HQ meets stringent energy efficiency standards, with a Biomass Boiler and Solar PV for the supply of electricity.
Customer service has always been at the heart of BASI’s business operations, and through employing only the most passionate and highly skilled engineers, the team consistently achieve a customer satisfaction ratings which average 98%.
