Has the bad weather taken its toll on your boiler?

Last week our engineers were kept busy responding to homeowners across Yorkshire who had a boiler breakdown during the bad weather. Freezing conditions and increased central heating use left many boilers struggling to cope.
Winter places added strain on your heating
No matter the weather, we rely on central heating more in the colder months. Like a car or any heavy machinery, extended use leaves your boiler in need of routine maintenance. An annual service makes sure the system is performing efficiently, which is particularly useful after cold spells, and prevents small issues developing into a breakdown.
During a boiler service, your engineer will
- Check for leaks and corrosion
- Inspect all components for wear and tear
- Clean away dust, dirt and grime
- Assess the pressure
- Test the flue for safety
At the end, your engineer provides documents confirming the boiler’s health or recommends any necessary repairs. This helps prevent a breakdown and is a stipulation of most manufacturer warranties. The process usually takes under 60 minutes but can save days of worry.
At the time of writing, our boiler services started from as little as £60. For current pricing, see our boiler service page.
