It has recently been announced that Chancellor Rishi Sunak has planned a £2bn grant scheme for energy efficient home improvements.
The ‘Green Homes Grant’, set to launch towards the end of September, will see the government pay at least two-thirds of the cost of installing energy saving measures in homes up to £5000. Low income households could receive a grant of up to £10,000
Homeowners can choose from a range of energy efficient home improvements for their homes, obtain a quote from a local installer and upload their quote to the scheme website and once approved the installer will carry out the works.
The measures suitable for a particular property and the amount of funding available depends on certain criteria being met and a survey being carried out.
