A new cooker, properly fitted
A new gas cooker isn’t a job to leave to an appliance delivery driver. Even a like-for-like swap onto an existing bayonet needs a Gas Safe engineer to test the connection, check the supply rate, run a tightness test, and certify the install. We do that as a fixed-price visit, typically £80 to £120 including the certificate. If the kitchen has no gas supply where the new appliance is going, we’ll quote the pipe run up front so there are no surprises.
Servicing and safety checks
A gas cooker wants an occasional service the same way a boiler does, especially in rental properties where it forms part of the annual CP12 landlord safety check. We test for tightness, check the flame-failure devices on each burner, clean the burners and ignition, and leave a written record. £80 fixed for a standard service, often booked alongside a boiler service or landlord CP12 in the same visit.
Repairs, parts on the van
The common faults, blocked burner jets, failed ignition packs, dirty flame-failure devices, leaking flexible hoses, are all parts we carry. £80 first hour, parts at trade price, first-time-fix promise. If the cooker is genuinely past it and replacement parts are scarce, we’ll tell you straight rather than burn an hour of your money on a quote that won’t last.

Do I need a Gas Safe engineer to fit a gas cooker?
Yes. Any work on a domestic gas appliance, including a cooker, hob or oven that runs on natural gas or LPG, must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Our registration is 623525. The cooker won't be safe to use (or insured) without proper certification.
How much does a gas cooker fit cost?
A like-for-like swap of a free-standing cooker onto an existing bayonet connection is typically £80 to £120 fitted including the safety check and certificate. A new gas hob in a kitchen with no existing gas supply nearby may need a pipe run, which we quote separately after a 15-minute survey.
Can you install a hob and oven together?
Yes. Most modern built-in setups have the gas hob and an electric oven, which is the simplest combination. If you want a gas oven as well we'll check the gas supply rate is enough for both appliances running, and quote any necessary pipe upgrade up front.
My gas cooker won't light, can you fix it?
Often, yes. Common faults are blocked burner jets, failed ignition packs, dirty flame-failure devices, or a leaking flexible hose. £80 for the first hour, parts at trade price. If the cooker is over 10 years old and the parts are scarce, we'll tell you straight that replacement may be the smarter call.
Do you certify the cooker before you leave?
Yes. Every gas cooker install or service includes a tightness test, a flame-safety-device check, a flue and ventilation check where applicable, and a Gas Safe certificate left with you. The certificate is what your home insurance and any landlord-safety checks will want to see.
