Our pick of the best combi boilers 2020

These are the best combi boilers 2020

Combi boilers aren’t the sort of thing you have to think about all of the time, it only tends to be if they need servicing, repairing or replacing for one reason or another.

There are all sorts of combi boilers on the market and the top models are changing all the time. If you don’t really know that much about them (which is understandable), then it can be difficult to know which one to choose.

As we fit, repair and service boilers day in, day out, we thought we’d give you a hand by listing the best combi boilers for 2020. But before we start, we thought it’d be useful to quickly explain how combination or ‘combi’ boilers work….

How combi boilers work

This type of boiler is essentially a water heater and a central heating boiler all rolled into one. Combi boilers heat water directly from the mains when you turn on a tap, which means there’s no need for you to have a hot water storage cylinder or a cold water storage tank in your roof.

The benefits of combi boilers:

  • Cost effective to run compared to other boiler types.
  • More energy efficient as water’s heated instantly rather than being stored in a cylinder.
  • Space-saving as there’s no need for a hot water storage cylinder or cold water feed tank.
  • Hot water is available at mains pressure, meaning you can have a powerful shower without a separate pump.
